Assembler III (Quality)

Job Description

The Assembler III performs manual labor along a production line and troubleshoots production line issues. This position also floats between assembly inspection and quality checks to ensure company standards are met for the final product in accordance with company standards for completion of assembled units.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Operate production line equipment and hand/power tools efficiently at all workstations to assemble components.
  • Meets standard labor rates while maintaining quality standards.
  • Responsible for daily line quality control. Make adjustments, based on experience, to produce product within specifications. Reports issues that may fall outside of product specifications the same day.
  • Inspect final product, sub-assemblies, and parts to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Troubleshoots production line issues and work with Plant Manager to correct.
  • May operate forklifts to maintain production line flow.
  • Communicate & flex with co-workers to maintain required production goals.
  • Complete daily labor sheets and required production documentation.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows safety regulations daily.
  • Follows and communicates to co-workers both technical and verbal assembly instructions.
  • May perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
  • 5 years’ experience in mechanical/electrical assembly with quality background 
  • Ability to assemble all models to print and at expected quality levels
  • Ability to work independently on projects assigned by Plant Manager
  • Capable of using various measuring instruments (measuring tape, calipers, electrical meters, etc.) to check for irregularities and defects
  • Capable of reading schematics and engineering prints

Physical Demands & Working Environment:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
